Born in 1993, Brandon Rose is a Bronx native. He grew up playing basketball, and by the time he got to high school, he had become known for a unique style of play that resembled than-NBA MVP Derrick Rose, winning him the nickname “Rose,” which has stuck ever since. He attended Mercy College, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree, and New York University, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Marketing.

As a rapper, Brandon cites as his primary influences Jadakiss, Eminem, 50 Cent, Fabolous, Meek Mill, Nas, and J. Cole. He discovered his passion for music in the early 2000s, and in the years since, he has used music writing and production as a form of therapy and meditation, inhaling the beat and exhaling the words and disappearing into the song.

Brandon writes his music for an audience that spans all generations, but he targets mainly millennials. His sound combines a modern street style with classic 90s hip-hop beats. Long-term, he intends to sign a contract with a major label or launch his own label. A few of his videos have gone viral, and ThisIs50 has even featured him in an interview, and he has been featured on Hot 97’s “Who’s Next” series.
